I frankly did not expect to be as impressed as I have been and fully expected to return the 7140 after comparing to the 5130 for a week or so. Can not stress how much better in performance the 7140 is over the 5130 with same fanless design.

Not acceptable and have to figure out what is causing it.Īdded: Older games like Unreal 3 play smooth at 1080p and so did EDF, but that just drains the battery more quickly and adds to the heat. The 5130 about a third of that over the same time. The one issue I have is sleep mode drain. The 7140 is truly impressive IMO, with one issue to solve: Again, this is from the perspective of a tablet size fanless device. It will surprise folks how well this fanless device can play games. The trade off of course would be more performance and less battery life if even better. The 5130 did pretty good, but the 7140 fits as perfect as can expect with this type of device.

I got the 5130 and intended it to be a backup PC and a mini me laptop for portable entertainment and gaming with maximum battery and portability.
Display is very good and ditto for touch response (though I mainly use a bluetooth mouse and the keyboard dock). Speaker output is adequate for a "laptop" and not quiet and tinny.Ĩ. Wifi seems as robust and stable as the 5130 that is good.ħ. Most games that work on Dolphin are very playable now with the 7140. The 5130 played at half the speed of the 7140. Dolphin is an emulator that plays Gamecube games. I use the battery dock and get about 5.5 hours of battery life for 3D gaming and twelve not gaming so far (the gaming part could go up or down and hour depending on what games- duh).ĥ. Battery life is still to be determined, but appears on par with the 5130 but about an hour less gaming. The 7140 performs FAR better for gaming than the 5130. EDF is a resource hog, so was surprised it played smooth. The games played great at medium settings and at 1280X720. Also not hot like the Yoga 2 and 3 Haswells.

3D gaming can get real warm in the right top corner area of the back, but not hot like the the other V11 pro models or Surface Pro. The others were slide shows on the 5130 and unplayable.ģ. So i had to use a function based on gettimeofday() function. The intrinsic function second() does not provide the required resolution.
Iam working on linpack benchmark where in i need to supply a high resolution timer function.
